I have been told this is a <em>Triops newberryi<\/em>, a less-common species, the only other North American one being <em>Triops longicaudatus<\/em>. This specimen here, hyperactive enough to be exceedingly difficult to focus upon, much less obtain a nicely detailed image of, is roughly 3mm in overall length.
