Plowing ahead anyway&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I have two pairs of very similar photos for you to evaluate, and all I&#8217;m looking for is which you like best. Not asking about artistic merit, or which shows better details, or whether I should give up photography and go back to, um&#8230; something&#8230; just which of the pair do you prefer?<\/p>\n<p>The first pair<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wading-in.net\/walkabout\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/OspreyMoonLeft.jpg\" alt=\"osprey Pandion haliaetus soaring next to defocused moon\" width=\"750\" height=\"563\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-38911\" \/><br clear=\"all\"\/>Do you like this one, or the own immediately afterward, below?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wading-in.net\/walkabout\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/OspreyMoonRight.jpg\" alt=\"osprey Pandion haliaetus soaring next to defocused moon\" width=\"750\" height=\"803\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-38912\" \/><br clear=\"all\"\/>An unrelated side note<strong>:<\/strong> While the osprey (<em>Pandion haliaetus<\/em>) was a pretty good distance away, it still wasn&#8217;t anywhere near the &#8216;infinity&#8217; point of the Tamron 150-600, so the moon wasn&#8217;t in focus, even at f11. I&#8217;m slightly glad that it wasn&#8217;t a full moon, since the round fuzzy white spot might simply have been mistaken for an odd reflection or ghost or something, but I wouldn&#8217;t get a full moon this high in the sky in daytime anyway.<\/p>\n<p>And the next pair<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wading-in.net\/walkabout\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GreentreeComparison1.jpg\" alt=\"juvenile green treefrog Dryophytes cinereus poised to jump\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-38913\" \/><br clear\"all\"\/>With its companion image<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wading-in.net\/walkabout\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GreentreeComparison2.jpg\" alt=\"juvenile green treefrog Dryophytes cinereus poised to jump\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-38914\" \/><br clear=\"all\"\/>All I&#8217;m going to say right now is that these were all from yesterday, though obviously spaced a short while apart.
