This doesn&#8217;t make any sense to me, since all the blossoms that I&#8217;ve seen (save for <em>Star Trek<\/em> and Audrey II) have been distinctly non-aggressive but, you know, that&#8217;s towards <em>me<\/em>, who outweighs them by a factor of a few thousand. Who am I to say that this little frog doesn&#8217;t have his reasons? Unimaginable things can happen out there, and like Jane Goodall established, our mere presence can change the dynamics and behavior, at least until we&#8217;re accepted. I should probably spend a lot more time among the flowers, learn what being pollinated feels like&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>ADDENDUM. While writing this post, The Girlfriend came down (remember, I&#8217;m in the dungeon down here,) and I took her out to see the new blue-ish glories that had appeared overnight. While there, a lizard was scampering around nearby, and eventually got into the frame with the frog.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wading-in.net\/walkabout\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/NotFromTheLizard.jpg\" alt=\"Carolina anole Anolis carolinensis perched on morning glory Convolvulaceae leaves alongside juvenile green treefrog Dryophytes cinereus\" width=\"750\" height=\"503\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-42630\" \/><br clear=\"all\"\/>It must be said, the lizard hadn&#8217;t the faintest concerns about the morning glory blossoms, and in fact, I missed a great shot where it was perched atop one because the camera wasn&#8217;t in hand &#8211; you hear that a lot, don&#8217;t you? However, I believe I <em>did<\/em> get some more illustrations for tomorrow&#8217;s post, so there&#8217;s that. And these.
