Now that the details are finalized, I can announce that I’m instructing another photography offering, sponsored by Youth Community Project<\/strong><\/a> in the Chapel Hill\/Carrboro area of North Carolina. This is a basic photography seminar, open to youths aged 12-18<\/strong>, and will run for six weeks on Thursday evenings<\/strong> from 6 – 7 pm<\/strong> at the Street Scene Teen Center<\/strong> on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, starting March 1st<\/strong> (that’s this coming Thursday.) This is a community involvement project, and it runs under a ‘suggested donation’ system, meaning that there’s no fixed fee but donations are strongly encouraged (it helps pay for things like instructor’s fees, ahem<\/em>.) If you have any issues with downloading the PDF, contact me<\/a> and I’ll send it directly – I get enough spam comments on this site that I’m not publishing e-mail addresses openly.<\/p>\n

It’s a loose structure, without grading or assignments, but including suggested exercises and experiments. Doesn’t matter what kind of camera you have, or the level of experience, and everything’s casual. Should be a lot of fun – I know I’m<\/em> looking forward to it.<\/p>\n

And if you’ve read other items on the blog and are concerned about me expressing my views to your kids, relax – that’s for the blog, and has nothing to do with photography. I do<\/em> have a bit of professionalism. The same goes for my other instruction offerings<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nature Photography: Within Your Grasp<\/strong> is held on Saturday March 10th<\/strong> from 9:30 – 11:30 am and gives an overview of how to seriously approach nature photography and what to expect, as well as a few war stories. And the Spring Garden Photography Seminar<\/strong> is a hands-on workshop that includes both a brief classroom session and the opportunity to try it all out in the garden itself. It’s held on Saturday, March 24th<\/strong> from 1:30 – 4:30 pm;<\/strong> definitely bring your camera! Click here<\/a> for descriptions and registration information.<\/p>\n

By the way, while both of these are listed as adult classes, mine are open to all ages and experience levels. Even if you shoot in “green mode,” you shouldn’t have any trouble with either of these.<\/p>\n
