bodie island lighthouse sunset

You can't visit the Outer Banks of North Carolina without taking pictures of lighthouses. But since there are so many around, you try and do something different.

This is the Bodie Island lighthouse, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) south of Nags Head, with plenty of space to walk around and not half as popular as Hatteras, the one that was recently moved. So you can get pictures of it all by itself, without lots of people around.

There were people here when I wanted to take this, but I wandered around talking loudly about alien conspiracies and scared them all away. Just one of those tricks.
