When this photo was taken, I worked on a largely undeveloped plot of land that was thickly wooded. So on occasion, on the driveway down to my office I'd encounter some denizen of the forest like this one. This young white-tailed deer fawn (Odocoileus virginianus) really didn't know what to think of my car, nor the guy inside it leaning out the window and firing off frame after frame. But it allowed me some good poses before it decided I wasn't kosher and joined its siblings under cover of the trees.
