green treefrog Hyla cinerea

Catching a green treefrog (Hyla cinerea) as he prepared to jump. This was in the Butterfly House (hey, he has to eat something) in the Museum of Life & Science in Durham, NC.  I was using a couple of mini strobes from Photographers Warehouse, strapped right onto the lenshood, as a replacement for a ringlight or flash bracket. Exposure needs to be manually calculated, but they work well for $18 apiece.

The actual slide was a tad dark (dopey me failed to calculate the teleconverter into the mix), but it came up fine in the scan after some tweaking, and the light from above balanced out nicely.
