You ever flip through the photos fresh back from the lab, and stumble across one that makes your jaw drop? This was the first time it happened for me.
Over a decade ago, on Interstate-81 outside Syracuse, NY following a total lunar eclipse, I was finishing out the roll on a borrowed camera and tried my first time-exposure as a few cars and trucks went past – I'm guessing roughly forty-five seconds. This is about 1:00 in the morning, and the light comes from a bright full moon. Did I know how well-composed this would turn out? Probably not…
And no attempt since has ever turned out this well...
