This one was already being slotted in for the weekly topic the moment that I saw it, but before I even got the necessary photos, another topic that I liked much better happened along, so we’re going to go ahead and use this one now, rather than save it for another week. I mean, I can provide photos of other lunar eclipses, but not the most recent, since the conditions here made a brief foray into “execrable” before they descended into “fucked.”

This is, most likely, an eastern mud turtle (Kinosternon subrubrum,) but truth be told, there is a fair amount of variability in markings that cross over with the striped mud turtle, especially in North Carolina where the striped mud turtle is
