Is this going to go on all spring? Well, so be it – I can cope.
Glanced out the kitchen window while making lunch and saw a bold splash of white where there had been none before. The view of this particular spot on the edge of The Bay wasn’t good from that angle, nor from the back deck, so I slipped out front and went around the end of the garage, which was more than adequate.

Once again, our selection hails from 2009*, but this is likely the last from that year, since my posts were initially quite thin, and most of the images smaller. I happened upon this little scene entirely by paying attention to my hearing, catching the rustle near my feet
Hiding in plain sight
Right alongside our front walk sits a cluster of flowers that I planted from seed to assist with hummingbird photography – I’d rather have shots at natural-looking flowers than feeders. Unable to find either plants or seed for varieties I knew were hummingbird attractors, I grabbed a bag of “bird and butterfly mix,” which wasn’t an ideal choice –
