Now that the bloggarootie seems to be back to perfectly (well, nominally) functioning order, I thought, Should I go ahead and squeeze one last post and a handful of photos out before the day is up? and naturally followed with, Why not? I mean, the photos have already been shot, of a decent subject too – it’s not like I’m forcing anything (unlike, you know, certain

Took long enough
So, this is the other video that I’ve been trying to finish up, the notorious one mentioned in previous posts. It did not help in the slightest that, before getting the chance to edit together the clips, I continued to add more to them.
But yeah, the discoveries on the property keep right on happening. It’s certainly not boring in any way. Well, at least not for us…
You can see that
Gotta do this backwards
I have a small collection of the same subject from two consecutive days, but the best images were the first and tapered off a bit from there, so we’re doing them mostly in reverse order.
Four or five days ago (depending on when I actually post this – it’s 11 PM right now,) the day dawned quite foggy, and I looked out at the pond and saw practically nothing. No, it wasn’t quite
Perhaps more often
One step behind
I’ve been trying to get this video finished and uploaded for a couple of days now, and just tonight I had finished it off but, before I had even uploaded it, obtained even more clips that really should have been added. Instead, they’ll be along within a few days – otherwise I’ll never catch up. And yes, this is more backyard pond video.
This is to note that I added the mounting
Shocked, but pleased
It took me a couple of days to get to it, but I managed to sit down and design the flashlight mount for the cheap little camcorder mount/stabilizer, and then get it printed on the trusty 3D printer. I designed it in six parts, mostly so the height/angle of the flashlight beam could be adjusted to match the center of the camcorder’s field of view.
The shocking part? Everything
Estate Find LII, oh so late
Like, twelve hours later than my typical posting time – I am wracked with guilt. But to play on your sympathies, I haven’t been feeling well the past day or so, and so snuck in a couple of naps when I should have been working on this video. And of course, video editing takes so damn long in the first place, or at least, it does for me…
To add to that, nothing particularly new with
But cute helps
Another video here, which makes this the [insert accurate count here] one for the year – it looks like I’m branching out into videography more than a little bit. And yes, more of the same subjects, but listen: I’ve spent very long periods of time featuring insects and spiders and lizards and worse, so at least we’re dealing with something cute right now.
Semi-routinely, when
Estate Find L
Almost an extension of last week’s, which seems like it was a lot longer ago than it was. This was because I got the photos and video clip for last week’s that Monday, only three days after the preceding Find (XLVIII) and four days before it posted, and now these clips came this past Wednesday and Thursday evenings, nine and ten days following. Is that confusing? Let’s just say
Estate Find XLIX (IL)
Credit for this one goes to The Girlfriend, a discovery made while she was distributing the thrice-daily ration of corn for the various critters that come to partake we now have (at least) two more:
But we’re not letting it go at that, because I have still images too.
When she came to get me, I knew the camera and long lens was still affixed to the tripod in the upstairs bathroom
