This is a followup post that I’ve been meaning to do for a while, since the first part appeared here. I was finally inspired to finish it off after reading an article about what flight attendants carried for their job. Of course, that article title and mine are both

A last lingering look
This has been hanging out there for a lot longer than intended, but here, finally, is the last of the posts regarding the Topsail Island trip. I think.
As I said, fewer photos this time around, because we were doing more “stuff” – not as much time to be chasing subjects, and also less optimal conditions. We actually had some weather this time, mostly in the form of grey
Perfectly accurate
Having my fun with some very recent photos (like, within the past 90 minutes.) More will be along in a bit – I just wanted to throw out the (entirely incorrect) impressions I got from this Chinese mantis (Tenodera sinensis) after misting it tonight.
Odd memories, part 16
I’m trying to recall what kind of conversation we were having tonight that brought this subject to mind – it’s not like anyone would routinely discuss anecdotes of this nature, but then again, I’m involved, so…
This one occurred around the same time period of most of the ‘Per the ancient lore’ posts, like the one about to appear – back in the early
Yo, I’m all over this one
As intimated in the previous post, spring is indeed being difficult this year, behaving like a child saying, “green light red light!” then giggling maniacally. Which means yes, it’s snowing out there. I didn’t sleep well last night and the sinuses are bothering me this morning, so this is a perfect time to start posting, right? Spot the six differences
The image on the right, at least, you may have seen before – I believe I’ve used it twice on the blog. I stumbled across the version on the left while searching for some images for a present project, and it’s only two frames previous to the right one. Both of these are not cropped, by the way – I’m impressed that I managed to frame the two of them so
Sometimes I simply can’t
I’ve been trying all day, really I have, but it’s just not happening, so I have to apologize to you. Today, November 30th, is Annual Make Up A Bogus Holiday Day, but I’ll be damned if I can think of anything…
As the skies darken and the car starts making weird noises
Yes, it’s coming – on Sunday, to be precise. National Grouch Day rears its ugly head on October 15th, the one day of the year some sonofabitch isn’t allowed to rain on our raining on parades. But they will anyway, because if there’s one thing bright, optimistic people cannot do is put a cork in it.
I doubt you’ve noticed, but nobody seems to even try to recognize
Podcast: Radio interview
The slow season has now gotten a firm grip, and it’s only going to go downhill from here for a couple of months – I’ll still be finding things to photograph and post about, but it’ll be a bit harder.
In the meantime, however, I’m succumbing to narcissism (ever so briefly) by featuring my fifteen seconds of fame, at least locally: I was asked in by the
