The more the… abbier…
So, I sit here at the end of the month with over 1800 images shot therein, and find that too few of them really fulfill the idea of abstract, or at least my idea of it anyway – a couple would probably do better than these, but I have other plans for them. You might have even seen them already, since I’m writing this on the 29th and I’m not sure
There’s something about May
What was it now? Oh, yeah: it’s over. And in recognition of this, we have the month-end abstract.
Up early one morning exploring Our Hosts’ pond during our trip earlier this month, I took advantage of the morning twilight showing the water bowing under the trivial weight of the spider. And that’s all I’m gonna say because I apparently can’t type seven
Late but early
Wholly without intending, I have two more entries for the end of the month abstract – shot right at the end of the month, as in, this morning. However, the official post had already gone up by the time that I shot them (it was scheduled to appear at 1 AM,) so I’m just adding a post. There might even be another today, of photos that I shot yesterday, and it appears another video is coming
It’s that time again!
Of course, I’m referring to February 29th being Annual Contest Submission Day, and you know me – I wouldn’t miss this one. But I’m having a little trouble deciding, so this time around, I’m soliciting some help in choosing. Since the intertubes is not very supportive of, you know, allowing people to express their opinions, I’m going to be magnanimous

Yeah, I’m not impressed with it either, but I have very few images from February that make good abstracts, and the better ones I’ve already posted. And this is with an extra day in the month to shoot in, too! Some of us just can’t work with deadlines.
Anyway, this is… I don’t have to explain this, do I? It is what it is. Better luck next month.
January ran so far away
I said that this pic would be coming in a few days, because it’s an obvious choice for the end of the month abstract. Well, that and the fact that I’ve shot almost nothing in January, so it’s this or some weird images through the microscope.
While out on Jordan Lake, a huge flock of birds was visible well out over the water, and the long lens (and a knowledge of flight behavior)
One for each of you
It is the last day of December, and the last day of the year, and so this undoubtedly deserves two abstracts, even though ‘undoubtedly’ doesn’t deserve a ‘B’ in there. But let’s not let that get in the way.
Both of these were shot on the same day, one with the knowledge that it was in direct running for this wonderful opportunity, the other with

That’s the word that means, “all three,” right? You know, “both” for two, “throth” for three. Makes as much sense as just about anything else in English…
Ignoring that, it’s the end of November, and so we come, reluctantly and with grave trepidation, to the abstract image. Except I couldn’t decide on which of the three (extremely weak) choices
