On this date 20

We’re back in 2004, in Florida, with the borrowed digital camera. I was maintaining a small saltwater aquarium in the simplest way possible, which was to get fresh water for it twice a week and run an aerator within, and that was about it. The residents cycled through, being returned to the Indian River Lagoon and being replaced by whatever I happened to find, with a few hardy read more

Even more rampant

It is very early christmas morning as I type this. All the presents are wrapped, the cheesecake is cooling on the stove top, and the kitchen is clean with the dishwasher going. And I have left a couple of gifts for The Girlfriend to discover when she gets up, one of which I’m going to show here because I’m almost positive she’s going to hit the kitchen before she checks read more

Per the ancient lore, part 39

Man, my timing is off. Last week we had the end of the month abstract fall on Friday and so coincide with the Ancient Lore post, but we’d only gotten up to the Reptiles/Amphibians folder. What follows (i.e. today) is the Scenic/Abstract folder. I should have thought about this at the beginning of the year…

Podcast: Yet again

It’s another hybridcast – part podcast, part slideshow, part video, which means ignore the blank periods because they’re supposed to be there. But there were enough photos in this batch, accompanied by explanations, that typing it all up would have made a tremendously long page (yeah, much longer than this one,) plus we’re in the video age anyway so I’m catering read more

However, I also like the alternate concept of “sun dry,” which is how my clothes were at least half of the time, so we’re read more

Way behind schedule, but anyway…

So, I finally managed to finish off a project started for last christmas, which is the repainting of The Girlfriend’s spare tire cover. The first had been done back in 2009, and despite our best efforts with UV protectant spray, the vinyl cover was showing its age and starting to tatter at the edges, so it was time for a new one.

I had intended to find a hard shell cover instead of a vinyl read more

Podcast: Necessary research

Okay, I finally got enough time and an adequate frame of mind to tackle the Savannah/Jekyll Island trip – or at least part of it. You may note that, while I talk about cleverly handling a schedule in the podcast, I never actually said when I would get around to this, so I’m not behind schedule at all.

As before, I am including a few images to help illustrate the narrative, if I may use read more
