Had a small handful of pics to post, then got a few more yesterday morning (actually, right after the tiger beetle) that were going to go up, but I got busy with some other things. Then last night (which is only a couple hours ago as I type this,) I got more that needed to jump in line. So the next few image posts are going to be in reverse chronological order, but so be it.

Did a nighttime patrol, specifically looking for something since The Girlfriend and I saw evidence while we were out on the deck grilling steaks (back when it was daylight.) However, we’re going to build rather than doing them in order, because dramatic writing (well, typing) and all that.

Out one night and tracking a nearby ratcheting sound, I happened across this guy and got some nice poses, largely to try and invoke an identification since
There were about 2-3 minutes today when seeing this was actually possible, so The Girlfriend and I are extremely lucky to have been there when it happened. But as we were walking the property and discussing where some trees would be going, I spotted this microspud booking as fast as it was able across the gravel driveway.

It took me a couple of days to get to it, but I managed to sit down and design the flashlight mount for the cheap little camcorder mount/stabilizer, and then get it printed on the trusty 3D printer. I designed it in six parts, mostly so the height/angle of the flashlight beam could be adjusted to match the center of the camcorder’s field of view.
